Finalization of LCCAP Formulation

BBL (Balita sa Bag-ong Loreto): In response to the call of the RA 9729 known as the Climate Change Act of 2009, the municipality of Loreto is now on its finalization phase of the Formulation Workshop of the Local Climate Change Action Plan (LCCAP) held today, July 11, 2018.
According to Mayor Nena Ladaga-Quijano, chairman of Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council that this LCCAP is a requirement to access the People’s Survival Fund (PSF). She added that this will be submitted to the Climate Change Commission for Evaluation and deliberation for funding of Climate Change Adaptation measures and plans by the LGU.
The said 3-day writeshop is attended by the Sangguniang Bayan Members, Office Heads, and CSO as members of the MDRRM Council at Almont Beach Resort, Lipata, Surigao City.

Election and Induction of LIGA ng mga Barangay Officers 2018

Mayor Nena L. Quijano inducted the newly elected officers of LIGA ng mga Barangay with their LIGA President Hon. Roger A. Ramos the pride of Barangay San Juan held at Rooftop Function Hall, July 16, 2018.
The said election was facilitated by the office of DILG and COMELEC. LIGA ng mga barangay is an association of punong barangay in the municipality or ABC (Association of Barangay Chairman)

PSA: Examination of 15 Applicants as Enumerator to the 2015 POPCEN in LORETO, PDI

LORETO TODAY: The Philippine Statistic Authority (PSA) in coordination with Local Civil Registry Office of the Municipality of Loreto conducted an examination to the 15 applicants in which 11 examinees passed the exam and qualify as enumerator facilitated by MR. GLENNBOY C. LISTON, D.M., Statistician 1/Caretaker of PSA Satellite Office of Dinagat Islands. The said examination is a preparation to the forthcoming 2015 Census of Population (POPCEN 2015) all over the country. POPCEN 2015 aims to generate statistics on the socio economic and demographic characteristics of the population and important housing characteristics. The 2015 Census of Population commence on August, 2015. The Local Civil Registry Office of Loreto is under the care of Engr. Madelon P. Makinano. 

LORETO, PDI HOSTED WEMBOREE 2015

Loreto, Dinagat Islands: A 3-day disaster resiliency camp was conducted at the Municipality of Loreto, Province of Dinagat Islands, May 19-21, 2015. Guided by the theme “The Role of the Youth in Addressing Disaster Resiliency”.

The youth from the 7 different municipalities this province gathered to undergone camping activity implemented by DILG’s “Operation Listo” so called Wemboree, one of the components of the said program which aims that the youth will appreciate and get involved in the disaster preparedness endeavors of the LGUs.

Inputs and exercises on Leadership and other motivational exercises done during activity. The camp aims to develop the participants’ mindset from the typical “me” to “we” and transform participants to be a good examples to their generations. Other activity includes Body Painting, Poster Making & Jingle making. The said activity concluded a grand campfire that showcases the talents/skils of participants in presenting workshop outputs in the various media such as “skit”, “interpretative dance”, “story board” used as creative presentations and the releasing of sky lanterns done after the grand campfire by means of commitment of the 36 participants. 



The activity was organized by the provincial government of Dinagat Islands through its DILG Provincial Office under the supervision of the Provincial Director Domingo E. Bulabog with Miss Ma. Rosario M. Ambray of Loreto as host Municipal Local Government Operations Officer (MLGOO) aided the activity. Wemboree is held at the Loreto Central Elementary School, Loreto, Dinagat Islands. The Honorable Mayor Nena I. Ladaga-Quijano graces the momentous Wemboree.

Hinophopan Cave

Hinophopan is a 5 minute stroll from farm to market road bound to a new technical caving adventure perfect for day-tripper explorer has been discovered named Hinop-hopan cave. Wild species of snakes, rock formations, bats, shrimps and water eel are found while exploring to that place. It is called Hinop-hopan because running water from the forest falls on the cave during rainy days.

Hinop-hopan cave was already discovered by the engraved sign "ESTA CUEVA TUE DESCOBRE: OCTOBER 4, 1926 AD".

BUENAS DIAZ Cave

This cave is located at Tabonan in Barangay San Juan so called BUENAS DIAZ Cave. The word "buenas diaz" is a spanish word. "Buenas" meaning Good and "Diaz" meaning Morning
